Phil Lempert of Supermarket Guru taste-tested the new Smart Menu Veggie Meatballs and deemed the product his pick of the week, calling them “among the best he’s ever had!” The meatballs were highlighted for having 100 calories, 1.5 grams of fat, 1 gram of sugar and 13 grams of protein. Phil notes that the meatballs are great with pasta or even by themselves as a snack.

Consumer Reports notes that veggie burgers are having a moment, reporting that 25% of Americans say meatless burgers are on the menu in their house more than once per month; many eat them several times weekly. The veggie burger renaissance is part of a trend toward eating more plant-based foods, like Lightlife’s Smart Patties. Consumer Reports comments that the Smart Patties taste great and are also low in calories (100 calories per patty).
