Wow, this is so much better than I anticipated. I am trying to eat, shall we say cleaner foods. I am no fan of tofu except in miso soup. Anyhow, this stuff is dense and flavorful. I just added a bit of soy sauce to this and put it in the skillet for a few minutes and it was yummy. I ate it with grilled asparagus and some strawberries. I perfect quick dinner. I'm not a vegetarian, just thought I'd give it a shot and I'm so glad I did!

This product is calorie dense with good calories but has a high fat content, 36%, not too bad for what is in it. Fax is high in fat but also very high in essential fatty acids and is whole plant based. Soy adds fat and the brown rice adds a little fat. It is low a sodium food with high potassium which is good. The fiber content is excellent. It is well balanced with some calcium and iron. This makes a good snack when hungry and one cannot eat a full blown plant centered diet for one reason or another. Again the fat content is high but it is plant fat and an oil free food. The taste is also good. I am on a very low fat diet but I can and do eat this one every once in a while. This product is a well balanced food source considering the flax that it contains.

Wow--First time I tried the Flax Tempeh was a week ago with a stir fry recipe that I got for a Banana Curry sauce and with my own vegetable mix (Shrooms, Broccoli, Red, yellow and Orange peppers, onions, and believe it or not, 1/2 of a sliced poblano pepper) it was very good--BTW: This was topped on Brown Rice. A little labor intensive b/c of the chopping and sauce prep but I was able to freeze half the vegetables. That leads me to my second swing at this Tempeh business! Feeling a bit lazy tonight I took the Frozen Vegs, half my Package of Flax Tempeh (package says it keeps up to a week in its original tight wrapper) and tossed it in with about 3/4 cup of SoyVey VeryVery Teriyaki Marinade for 10 minutes. Threw the marinade and flax in the pan for another 5-7 minutes and defrosted the veggies and threw them in the pan. Microwaved some Uncle Bens Brown rice in a bag for 90 seconds and topped it with my Stir fry, Grinded up about 8 almonds for a little crunchy garnish and now I'm feeling like I can open my own Vegan Restaurant. Booya!

The same flaxseed that’s been enjoyed for almost 5,000 years is now yours by way of the great taste of tempeh. Nutritious and loaded with fiber, it adds a unique spin on any meal. Try it diced in a curry or grilled like a steak.
