Turkey, Brie & Green Apple Panini with Sauce

What you'll need: 

1/4 cup canned whole berry cranberry sauce
1 1/2 teaspoons light mayonnaise
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/4 teaspoon orange zest

8 slices Italian bread or your favorite bread
2 ounces brie, divided
1/2 Granny Smith apple, thinly sliced into 16 slices
8 slices Lightlife® Smart Deli Turkey
Cooking spray

Special equipment: panini press or 1 large heavy pan to press down on sandwich. A large spatula will also work.

How to make it: 

There’s nothing better than a grown-up grilled cheese. Swap brie for your favorite cheese or use Lightlife® Smart Deli Ham instead of Turkey. Make it for a snack or an easy weeknight meal. Your kids will also love it. 

In a small bowl, mix together the cranberry sauce, mayonnaise, mustard and orange zest. Set aside until ready to prepare sandwich.

Preheat panini press or large pan on the stove top over medium-low heat.

Spread 4 of the bread slices with about 1 tablespoon cranberry mixture each. Top with 2 slices of Smart Deli Turkey, 4 thin slices of apple and a 1/2 ounce brie. Top each with another slice of bread.

Place 1 to 2 sandwiches on a panini press or in a preheated pan. Cook for 4 to 6 minutes until bread is toasted and lightly browned and cheese is melted. If using a pan, cook for 2 to 4 minutes on each side, weighting down the sandwich while it cooks. Serve warm.
