LightLife

Our carbon neutral promise

Plant-based food helps reduce humans’ impact on the climate. And our commitment to carbon neutrality goes beyond the food we produce.

Carbon Neutral

What does it mean to be carbon neutral?

Carbon neutral means that we do everything in our power to avoid or reduce our emissions on our own, and any currently unavoidable emissions that we put into the atmosphere we offset through the purchase of high-quality, verifiable credits from environmental projects.

Reducing Emissions

We have also set science-based targets approved by the Science Based Targets initiative to reduce our absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 30% (2018 baseline) and the intensity (per ton of product produced) of our Scope 3 GHG emissions by 30% (2018 baseline) by 2030.

Together, Planet-Forward

As part of the Maple Leaf Foods family, LightLife® is joined in the investment of verified projects that eliminate carbon emissions, including the Bluesource – Carroll Avoided Grassland Conversion Project in Montana, USA, and the Cedar Grove – Maple Valley OWC Composting Project in Washington, USA.
