Killer Tempeh “Ground Beef”

Use this baked and seasoned tempeh in any dishes traditionally prepared with ground beef. It’s perfect for tacos, shepherd’s pie, chili, and so much more. It’s super easy to prepare–the oven does all the hard work for you– and, best of all, it’s made with just a few basic ingredients you probably already have in your cupboards.
Serves: 4
Prep and Cook Time: 25 minutes

Ingredients:

2 (16 oz) packages of LightLife® Original Tempeh, crumbled
3 tbsp Soy Sauce or Tamari
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Paprika
1 tsp Chili Powder
1 Garlic Clove, grated
1 tsp Corn Starch
1 tsp Tomato Purée
2 tbsp Nutritional Yeast
1 tbsp Olive Oil
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking pan with parchment paper.

2. Add the ingredients (except the oil) to a large bowl, mix together well, and coat the tempeh thoroughly.

3. Tip the tempeh into the baking pan and spread out into one even layer. Drizzle the oil over the tempeh and bake for 20 minutes, tossing halfway through so it crisps up all over.
